Carmen Kampman

The Reverend Carmen Kampman is a woman on the road of leadership. Ordained with the PAOC, she is a steward of God’s call to women in ministry, and the founder of LEAD Women, a ministry equipping Christian women for leadership. She is also VP of Advancement at Horizon College & Seminary, and a graduate student in the Masters of Leadership and Management program at Briercrest Seminary. Through study, discipline, and passionate encouragement, Carmen cultivates the deep wells of God’s grace and invites others to journey with her, to discover for themselves who they are and how God is calling them to where they want to be. Self-care is not a sinful word. Self-care does not mean I am selfish. Self-care means that I am attentive to the needs of my body, mind, and spirit. . These last two weeks have been hard. And in the hard I have leaned into God and upped my self-care. . I bought myself these beautiful, fragrant peonies. And every day since I bought them, I have, multiple times a day, breathed in their fragrance, beheld their beauty, and been drawn in to their transformation (open to full bloom). . They remind me that new seasons will come. That God’s beauty can be seen in the midst of difficult times. That doing things that feed my soul are worth it. . If you’re in a hard place, cultivate beauty. Perhaps that means buying yourself flowers or going for long walks outdoors or sticking your nose stuck in a book or setting early bed times. . We are the objects of God’s faithful and unending love. And we were created to have life and life in abundance. . What is your soul whispering (or screaming) to you?
