I’ve spent a lot of time lately thinking about what it is that LEAD Women Ministries is all about. I have the mission: Empowering Christian women to lead with confidence, and I do that through LEAD Women. LEAD is an acronym for leadership engagement and development.
But what is the big thing, the one thing that ten, twenty, thirty years from now I’d envision seeing if I stepped up and did what I am passionate to do now? I think I’ve finally nailed it down.
To see every Christian woman leader lead with confidence & excellence.
It matters to me – genuinely matters to me – that every Christian woman has what she needs to lead with confidence and excellence. And not all women leaders will have the opportunity to do a degree in leadership & management, but all women leaders should have access to leadership development.
Additionally, not all women are leaders – so my lane is narrow and specific. Are all women influencers, 100%! Are all women leaders? No, they’re not. AND that’s okay! Each of us has a unique contribution to make in the world, some of us do it at leaders, and that’s the group I want to connect with and assist.
It’s my passion to help other women leaders. I want them to know that they can do this leadership thing and do it well. I am a fan of women leaders and their development. Funny how God changes our hearts because some 25 years ago I said I would NEVER do ministry to women again. (It’s a story for another day!) But I’m someone wanting to journey with them as a guide, a teacher, a coach.
I want Christian women leaders to know that there is a place for them at the table, that someone is rooting for them, that someone is there for them to turn to if they need some guidance. AND, if leading is the call upon their life, even if they may be reluctant and fearful and lacking confidence, they can do it! (Every leader at times struggles with all of these!)
They will need development along the way, their confidence may need to be grown, and most certainly, their character will need development. And here’s the thing – we need our female leaders to rise up, they have important work to do!
And if that’s you – you can do this! And dare I be so bold to say, we need you! Your leadership matters! Your development matters! YOU MATTER!
I heard it said recently, and I don’t know who said it, that “skill can get you into the room as a leader, but it’s your character that will keep you there.” We need godly woman leaders worth following! Three values that will guide LEAD Women Ministries are competence, character, and confidence.
What are you up to, friend? What’s your mission (what you’re doing today)? What’s your vision (the big dream for what you’re everyday ‘doing’ will enable to happen)?
I’m so excited about finally drilling down to something I’m so very passionate to do. Are you there yet? Do you know?
